The Book is Here!

It's like Christmas.

For the past eighteen months since I signed the contract for "Elliot and the Goblin War," it's been all anticipation. Great things.

Seeing an edited manuscript. Seeing cover art, internal art. Reading blurbs. Book 1 sold to a Turkish publisher. All great things.

But today it's Christmas.

If I'd known the nice UPS man was coming today with my books I'd have rolled out the red carpet for him, offered him a cookie or something while I opened the package to show him what was inside. As it was, I was hurrying out the door for errands, running late, and hurriedly took the package which was certain to be for the husband since I hadn't ordered anything. When I saw my name on it, I knew, and all the errands fell away.

So I'm thrilled to announce that I have my author's copies in hand, which means it can't be that many more days until they start to appear on bookshelves everywhere. They're also available online at Amazon: http://tinyurl.com/2b3t5jp

I also want to share a little of my Christmas with a blog visitor. So go ahead and leave a comment - any comment - and it'll put you into a drawing to win a free signed copy of the book.

I have pre-ordered my copy of your book but what a special gift if I could pay it forward..... I am so ready to order several more for christmas for my family. (Hey, the husband says, Does this come in the audible format as well for the blind?) It would be great if it did! Thank you for putting out such a cute titled book.

Jen there has never been a prize that I have ever wanted to win. . . until today. Now I want your book signed and given to me first. I want to own your copy from your "special 25 box" and I think that this is such a dang cool thing you get to do.

Ann, there has been a little talk about an audio book but nothing yet. I'll let the publisher know there's been interest, though.

Did you know the Redwall series was begun as a teacher wanting to create books for his blind students? So he wrote a book as visual as he could so that they could "see" the story as he wrote it?

Signed copy for my little girl, nope not gonna pass up a chance at that. Congrats on the release! My wife, daughter and I have loved what we've read so far and can't wait to read the rest. We've already decided what we're buying the nieces, nephews and cousins for Christmas. =)

Rachel - Sorry, I used a random generator that chose GMR to receive the free book, but I'd still love it if you ever felt like picking up a copy on your own. Thanks everyone for leaving such nice comments.
